Lalu Muhamad Jaelani (Prof. Ir. Lalu Muhamad Jaelani, ST, M.Sc., Ph.D.) is a professor of geomatics engineering at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS Surabaya). He obtained his B.Eng. degree in geodetic engineering from ITS Surabaya, Indonesia, in 2003. Subsequently, he earned an M.Sc. degree in Remote Sensing Science and Technology from the National Central University (NCU), Taiwan, in 2010, and a Ph.D. degree in Integrative Environmental Sciences from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, in 2014.

Currently, Dr. Jaelani serves as a Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of Geomatics Engineering, Faculty of Civil, Environment, and Geo-engineering at ITS Surabaya, Indonesia. He imparts knowledge in Terrestrial Surveying and Mapping, Spatial Computation, GIS, and Remote Sensing. His ongoing research encompasses:

  1. Remote Sensing for Precision Agriculture
  2. Remote Sensing for Air Quality Monitoring
  3. Remote Sensing for Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) Change Detection and Monitoring
  4. Development of remote sensing algorithms for sea and inland water parameter retrieval.
  5. Implementation of geospatial science and technology
  6. Disaster mitigation

Dr. Jaelani is an active member of the Indonesian Society for Remote Sensing (ISRS). Additionally, he holds the position Vice Director at the Directorate of Research and Community Services (DRPM), ITS.
